Your Relaxed Journey to the Palace

Schloss Leopoldskron is located approximately two kilometres from Salzburg’s Old Town, close enough to feel connected to the city yet far enough to offer a sense of retreat. The journey is straightforward: around 16 minutes by car from Salzburg Airport and 17 minutes from Salzburg Train Station, depending on traffic.

Taxis are readily available at both the airport and the train station. Most taxis accept card payments, though we recommend confirming with the driver before setting off. Should you need cash, the nearest ATM is located at Raiffeisenverband Salzburg, Moosstraße 13.

For those travelling more sustainably, public transport offers an easy alternative. The number 11 bus stops directly at “Schloss Leopoldskron”, bringing you within a short walk of the estate. Cycling is also a pleasant option from the city centre, with ample space available on site to park bicycles securely.

Check-in takes place at the Meierhof, the contemporary heart of the estate, where our team will welcome you and guide you through the first moments of your stay. Formalities are kept simple, allowing you to settle in without delay.

If you arrive early or wish to explore before your room is ready, you’re welcome to begin enjoying the grounds, the gardens, or a quiet coffee - the Schloss reveals itself best without a timetable.

Once you’ve arrived, the pace naturally shifts. Whether your stay is short or unhurried, the Schloss is intended to feel lived in rather than visited - a place to move freely between rooms, gardens, and moments of pause.

Our team is on hand throughout your stay to assist with anything you might need, from practical arrangements to local recommendations. From here, Salzburg and its surroundings are close at hand - or you may simply choose to stay exactly where you are.

Ownership & Access

Schloss Leopoldskron is privately owned by Salzburg Global. Access to the grounds and buildings is exclusive to hotel and event guests, those joining us for breakfast, and participants in guided tours.

Accessibility

Both buildings are generally accessible for guests with reduced mobility. As a historic property, some areas may present minor challenges such as doorsteps, uneven floors, or narrow paths, which may require assistance.

Bookings & Cancellation

Our General Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings.
– Free cancellation is possible until 15:00 one day prior to arrival.
– During the Salzburg Festival, a minimum stay of two nights applies for Meierhof rooms and Schloss suites. Festival bookings may be cancelled free of charge until 14 days prior to arrival.
– In the case of later cancellations or no-shows, 100% of the first night will be charged. Seasonal conditions may vary.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome upon request, with a maximum of two dogs per room. A fee of EUR 29 per dog, per night applies. We are happy to provide a blanket, bowl, and waste bags.
Dogs are not permitted in dining rooms, and we kindly ask guests to clean up after their dogs in the garden and park.
