The estate offers both the grandeur of its interiors and the openness of its grounds – 7 hectares of parkland set alongside water and the backdrop of a mountain. Here is an overview of what we can offer guests staying in either the Schloss Suites or Meierhof Rooms:

Our Amenities

As a guest, you have access to all public areas of both the Schloss and the Meierhof. This includes the palace’s historic state rooms and the expansive park surrounding the lake.

Your stay includes:

Full buffet breakfast served daily in the palace
Complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the estate
Use of bicycles (subject to availability)
Access to the Whitman Fitness Center in the Meierhof
On-site parking (subject to availability)
Charging stations for electric vehicles (subject to availability)
Mini golf and access to the adjacent swimming pool (May–September)

You are also welcome to borrow books from the Max Reinhardt Library in the palace and magazines from the Meierhof lobby –we simply ask that they are returned for others to enjoy.

Occasionally, events such as weddings or conferences take place at the palace. During these times, certain areas may be temporarily inaccessible, and there may be some minor noise disturbances.

What We Choose Not to Offer

Schloss Leopoldskron is an eighteenth-century palace, and its historic character shapes what we offer as well as what we choose to forgo.

There is no à la carte restaurant, no concierge, and no spa in either the Schloss or the Meierhof. This is a deliberate decision to preserve the architectural integrity and the tranquil atmosphere of the house. Salzburg's cafés, restaurants, and spa offerings are all within easy reach, and our team will gladly recommend places to suit your wishes.

Swimming & Mini Golf

During the warmer months (May to September), guests have access to the adjacent, public outdoor swimming pool – a simple pleasure on summer afternoons. Mini golf is also available, offering a relaxed and light-hearted way to spend time outdoors.

Sport

Walking & Jogging

The grounds and surrounding area invite movement at your own pace. A popular route circles the Leopoldskroner Weiher lake, offering uninterrupted views of the Schloss and the Untersberg beyond.

For longer runs or walks, paths extend toward the Salzach River and into the open landscapes that border the city. A map of popular walking and jogging routes is available at Reception – whether you’re looking for a quiet morning jog or an unhurried afternoon stroll.

Cycling

Cycling is one of the most enjoyable ways to explore Salzburg and its surroundings. Bicycles are available to guests throughout the year (subject to availability), making it easy to reach the Old Town in just a few minutes or to follow longer routes into the countryside.

Secure space is available for guests who bring their own bicycles. The surrounding cycle paths are well maintained and gently scenic – ideal for both leisurely rides and more purposeful outings.

The beautiful castle in a magnificent setting is truly worth a visit. We were delighted with the room in the Meierhof, as well as the generous breakfast in the castle itself. A dreamlike short getaway!
