In Echoes of Africa, Richard Schabetsberger presents a visual narrative shaped by nearly a decade of travel through South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and Morocco (2014–2023). His photographs move between vast landscapes and intimate encounters, capturing everyday life with a sense of stillness and attentiveness.

Schabetsberger approaches people and places with a gaze that is both respectful and immediate. His work is guided by a search for what endures beyond the moment – images that invite reflection rather than explanation.
Echoes of Africa is an invitation to pause, observe, and experience the continent through a deeply personal perspective. The exhibition inaugurates Salzburg Global’s new digital format Lichtbilder – Digital Perspectives, presented on digital canvases in the Meierhof Bar and Gonzalez Lounge.
