Entering the adjacent room to our left, we find ourselves in the McGowan Room, named after an American judge who strongly supported the Salzburg Global Seminar. This adjoining room to the library contains predominantly judicial literature. |
Along with other antiques, it contains the archbishop’s original sacristy cabinet from the 18th Century. According to historical lore, even Max Reinhardt used this room as his study when he developed the concept of the Salzburg Festival in cooperation with Richard Strauss and Hugo v. Hofmannsthal. |
