This led to the founding of the Salzburg Global Seminar. For almost 60 years now, the private, American educational institution at Schloss Leopoldskron has organized conferences, seminars and workshops on political, economic, judicial, social, cultural and scientific themes of global importance.

Since 1959 the Salzburg Global Seminar has owned the palace, which serves also as a venue for exclusive events and seminars when no internal conferences are scheduled.
